'Learn a resource. Be a resource.' Is my matra. Hello, I'm Kisha Williams, a proud Taylortown, North Carolina native. As a public service administrator with almost 20 years of experience with progressive county government leadership, I bring a strong track record of strategic guidance, operational management, and program development. All with the goal of enhancing the quality of life for residents of all ages.
I moved to Carteret County seven years ago to accept a county leadership position. As a former County Senior Services Director, I oversaw comprehensive aging programs and initiatives, administered a $1.1 million annual budget, and collaborated with local governments, community organizations, and stakeholders to expand services throughout Carteret County.
I received my undergraduate degree in recreation administration with a minor in health promotions from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 2008. My love for recreation led me to becoming a registered North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) basketball and volleyball official.
My role with Lighthouse Environment Partners allows me to continue my collaborative leadership style, commitment to inclusivity, and ability to translate community needs into impactful programs and services. I am passionate about community engagement and remain dedicated to supporting vibrant North Carolina coastal communities on their quest to increase climate resilience.
In my downtime, I enjoy volunteering with the Emerald Isle Sea Turtle Patrol. I am also a certified grief support specialist and Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention instructor.
