Juanita Small George grew up between Beaufort, North Carolina, and Montgomery, Alabama, as the daughter of the late Cornelius Small and Lugeian McQueen Small. A graduate of Columbus College with an Associate in Arts (2000) and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with specializations in Management and Marketing (2002), she dedicated 32 years to government service with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service. Her career journey took her "from stocking at the commissary to leading a team of over sixty employees," eventually transitioning to Branch Chief over the Air Force section in Orlando, Florida—"now that was no joke!" She is the proud mother of three daughters: Lateen, Kortesha, and Rogenia.

Since returning home to North Carolina in 2009, Juanita has been deeply committed to both her faith community and local service. She has served faithfully under Pastor Dwayne Shy at Chosen Ministry Christian Center since 2009, where she leads the Intercessors and Prayer Warriors ministry, oversees the accounting department, and co-founded the CMCC Encouraging prayer line. Her community involvement includes joining the North River & Laurel Road Volunteer Fire Department in 2010 and serving on the North River & Laurel Road Community Outreach board. "God has taught me to Trust Him even when I cannot track the issue or understand the situation," she reflects, embodying Proverbs 3:5-6 as her guiding principle. Through her company "THE A@T OF FAITH LLC," she continues her mission to support organizations that collaborate with women and children in crisis and re-entry programs.
